HOLD THE FIRE CD
HOLD THE FIRE, BY TOMMY JAMES, IS READIED FOR JUNE 27 RELEASE
New York, NY (June 13, 2006) —Tommy James’ first all-new studio album of the 21st Century, Hold The Fire, to be released June 27, is the latest chapter in this legendary artists’ 40-year career, a career that has seen his songs covered over 300 times. Released on his own Aura Records (distributed by St. Clair Entertainment), the album presents a wide swath of new original sounds including the Top 10 AC Radio hits “Isn’t That The Guy” and his new single “Love Words.” A deluxe boxed set of his timeless pop will hit stores this fall.
Hold The Fire features James spanning the gamut from smooth pop stylings to the kind of effervescent rock’n’roll he’s always been known for. “I had a great time recording this album,” he says with a smile. “I think it’s a pretty good snapshot of what I’m writing now.”
Tommy James has amassed 23 gold singles—including such timeless classics as “Mony Mony,” “I Think We’re Alone Now,” “Hanky Panky,” “Crystal Blue Persuasion,” “Crimson & Clover,” “Draggin’ The Line” and “Three Times In Love”— and nine gold or platinum albums, selling upwards of 100 million records worldwide.
In 1987, for the time in the history of the music industry, two cover versions of songs by the same artist (Tommy James) went #1 back-to-back (Billy Idol’s “Mony Mony” and Tiffany’s “I Think We’re Alone Now”). The music of Tommy James has appeared in such feature films as Forrest Gump, Heaven And Earth, Cape Fear, Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter’s Dead, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me and Monster.
And he’s just getting started…
