New York, NY—Internationally-acclaimed folk-rock renaissance band Blackmore’s Night—led by the legendary guitarist Ritchie Blackmore and his award-winning singer/songwriter wife Candice Night—has released Autumn Sky in the U.S.A. The album debuted on Billboard’s New Age chart at #1 (as did the band’s previous album, Secret Voyage) and remains currently in the Top 10.

Autumn Sky’s evocative lyrical quality, as written by Candice, remains inspired by nature and the myths and fairy tales that the couple has personally uncovered on their travels around the globe. The melodies and harmonic structures, as composed and arranged by Ritchie, are a creative pastiche of his own invention coupled with the actual musical structures and essence of 16th Century songcraft.

Combining traditional and modern day instruments (electric and acoustic guitars, keyboards, violins, and renaissance woodwinds), Blackmore’s Night has been known to deliver a unique sound and incredible live show. Many of these concerts have taken place at castles and other exceptional venues that add to the mystique and warmth of their performance. Blackmore's Night has appeared nationwide on PBS and Discovery channel specials, and has been awarded the “Best Album of the Year” and “Best Vocal Album Of The Year” by NPR New Age Reporter for their past seven studio CDs.?

Autumn Sky is comprised of 15 new Blackmore's Night songs, full of emotion with a touch of past times and ethereal atmospheres. From the glorious wanderlust-feelings of "Highland," all the way to the sweetness of "Strawberry Girl" and the upbeat "Journeyman," the album is powerful proof of the versatility of Ritchie Blackmore and Candice Night's repertoire and the talents of the seven-piece Blackmore's Night band.

Recorded during Candice's pregnancy, Candice and Ritchie have dedicated the Autumn Sky album to their newly born daughter Autumn Esmerelda Blackmore.
