New York, NY (April 19, 2005) – Eagle Rock Entertainment, the leading independent source for high quality music audio/visual programming, presents The Strat Pack ~ Live In Concert on DVD on May 3, 2005, featuring some of music’s top guitar heroes honoring the 50th Anniversary of the Fender Stratocaster
Held in 2004 at the infamous Wembley Arena in the UK, The Strat Pack Concert showcases a line-up of guitar masters collaborating with their peers on their own hits and notable covers, including Joe Walsh, Brian May (Queen) with The Crickets, David Gilmour (Pink Floyd), Hank Marvin (The Shadows), Ron Wood (Rolling Stones), Gary Moore, Mike Rutherford (Genesis / Mike + The Mechanics) & Paul Carrack.
In addition to the 50th Anniversary concert, special bonus features on the DVD include interviews with The Crickets, Gary Moore, The Shadows, Mike Rutherford and others. The DVD was filmed in Hi-Def and will be available in Stereo, 5.1 Surround and DTS audio. It runs approximately 190 minutes and lists for $19.98
The Strat Pack Concert was put together as a benefit for the Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Center, whose philosophy is grounded in the belief that everyone can respond to music - no matter how ill or disabled. Proceeds from the sale of the DVD will continue to increase funds for Nordoff-Robbins.
Along with the Gibson Les Paul, The Fender Stratocaster is the only guitar to stand the test of time. Invented by Leo Fender in 1954 the Stratocaster produced a tone and sustain not heard before. The instrument won over the hearts and ears of rock immortals such as Jimi Hendrix, David Gilmour, and Eric Clapton.
