This famous concert features performances from Sting, Paul McCartney, Elton John, Jimmy Buffet, Phil Collins and more. Also featured is one of the last performances from Carl Perkins.
On September 15, 1997 at Royal Albert Hall, Sir George Martin assembled an all-star cast to perform a benefit for the island of Montserrat, an island in the Caribbean that was devastated by a volcanic explosion. The artists that appear on Music For Montserrat have all recorded some of their biggest hits at Martin’s recording studio on the island.
Music For Montserrat begins with a majestic overhead tour of one of the world’s most famous venues and Martin welcoming all. What follows is two hours of musical bliss by some of the biggest stars in rock n’ roll, who’s combined album sales total over 60 million.
