New York, NY (October XX, 2004)- All of the legends have played the Montreux Jazz Festical. Now, for the first time ever, the vaults have been opened to these historical performances and Eagle Rock Entertainment is delighted to present the first series of DVDs from the recently acquired archives of the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival . Performances by Curtis Mayfield, Earth, Wind & Fire, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Al Di Meola, Gary Moore, Shane MacGowan & The Popes and Charles Mingus encompass the initial round of titles set for release November 16, 2004 .

Despite it's name, the Montreux Jazz Festival runs the gamut of all styles of music.  Situated near Lake Geneva in Switzerland, the festival started out as a 3-day jazz event in 1967 and has progressed to a 13-day festival in 2004, featuring acts varying in range from Herbie Hancock to Radiohead to Chic to Deep Purple.

The following titles will be available through Eagle:

Curtis Mayfield Live At Montreux 1987
Curtis Mayfield was one of the dominant figures of soul music for three decades. This '87 Montreux performance showcases material from his days with The Impressions to solo classics like "Freddies Dead" and "People Get Ready."

Earth, Wind & Fire Live At Montreux 1997 (+1998)
This DVD features the complete July 1997 performance, featuring tracks from the then recently released In The Name Of Love album as well as their renowned funk staples such as "Shining Star" and "Boogie Wonderland."   Also included are tracks from the 1998 performance as bonus footage.

Emerson, Lake & Palmer Live At Montreux 1997
After reuniting in the early nineties and producing the album Black Moon, ELP began to tour again.   Their 1997 tour included this memorable performance at the Montreux Jazz Festival on July 7 and is the only film available from this tour.

Charles Mingus Quintet Live At Montreux 1975
One of the all time great jazz bass players, Charles Mingus was also an innovative composer and a true musical leader. This concert from the Montreux in '75 features extended versions of tracks from the Changes One and Changes Two, released together in 1974. The lineup features Mingus on bass, Don Pullen on Piano, Dannie Richmond on drums, George Adams on tenor sax and Jack Walrath on trumpet.

Shane MacGowan & The Popes Live At Montreux 1995
Shane MacGownan first came to prominence as the frontman and principal songwriter for The Pogues.   After splitting the band in '91 he reappeared with The Popes and released their debut in '95. This Montreux performance from the tour of that album showcases the new material as well as some Pogues gems (this true?)

Al Di Meola Live At Montreux, '86, '89 & '93
Drawing on three of Di Meola's Montreaux performances, the earliest is a solo acoustic performance.   The Super Guitar Trio graces the '89 performance, with fellow axe-men Larry Coryell and Bireli Lagrene joining Al. The final performance from '93 features Di Meola with guitarist Chris Carrington and percussionist Arto Tuncboyaciya.

Gary Moore Live At Montreux 1990 (+1997)
Gary Moore was a founding member of Thin Lizzy before returning to his blues roots in 1990 with the release of Still Got The Blues.   Filmed on the July 7th date of that tour, the DVD also features bonus material of three of Moore's biggest hits, "Out In the Fields," and an extended version of "Parisienne Walkways" from '97.
