Sebastian Bach has now surpassed the moniker of rock-n-roll front-man to bona fide multi-media star. Bach led the hugely popular rock band Skid Row to multi-platinum status with sales of over 22 million records. Their debut album, Skid Row, sold over 10 million records, with two singles, "18 and Life" and "I Remember You" reaching the Billboard Top Five. Skid Row’s follow-up album, Slave to the Grind, was the first hard rock album to debut at #1 on the Billboard Album Chart. The band received the American Music Award for Most Popular Hard Rock Band of the year in 1990, with Bach gracing the cover of Rolling Stone the following year.
In 1996, after leaving Skid Row, Bach formed The Last Hard Men with The Breeders’ Kelley Deal, The Frogs’ Jimmy Flemion, and former Smashing Pumpkins drummer Jimmy Chamberlin to cover the Alice Cooper classic, "School’s Out" for the soundtrack of the smash hit film, Scream. The Last Hard Men also released a CD in November of 2001 on Spitfire Records.
As a solo artist, Bach has a deal with Eagle Rock Entertainment and has been extensively touring with his band, Sebastian Bach & Friends, recently playing over 200 gigs around the globe, including Japan, Korea, and Canada, as well as arenas and clubs around the United States. His first solo album, BRING ‘EM BACH ALIVE!, which he co-produced with renowned producer Michael Wagener, was released in November 2000.
Having acted in many movies including starring as "The Reaper" in the VH1 movie, Don’t Fear the Reaper which was part of the VH1 series "Strange Frequency," Bach made his Broadway debut in late 2000 starring in the hit musical Jekyll & Hyde. His four month extended run was honored by Broadway.com with the "Favorite Male Replacement" Year 2000 Audience Award. Subsequent to his role in Jekyll & Hyde, Sebastian released the benefit song for NYPD/FDNY "The Dreams in You" and later performed a benefit concert for the September 11 Fund.
In 2001 Sebastian went on to play ‘Riff Raff’ in the highly acclaimed Rocky Horror Show on Broadway. The New York Post raved that Bach was a "show-stopper" and this was further reaffirmed when the attendance figures for the show’s final two week run exceeded those of The Producers and newcomer, Mamma Mia.
Sebastian later lent his distinctive voice to narrate The Learning Channel’s popular series "The New Side Show" and in 2002 starred in his own popular VH1 hit series "Forever Wild,” taking a long-HARD look at metal in Bach’s all too familiar no-holds-barred personality.
At the end of ‘02, Sebastian adorned the lead role in the famed Jesus Christ Superstar. The show toured nationally into 2003 and Bach continued to astound audiences with both his comfort and command of the curtained stage. Jesus Christ Superstar was the #1 Broadway tour during Bach’s 6 month tenure as the lead, according to Variety.
It is only fitting that now is the time for Sebastian to deliver an all encompassing project for his fans, his first ever DVD, Forever Wild. Forever Wild is a montage of all things Bach. The bulk is a concert shot in 1998 in Hollywood, CA, mixing Sebastian Bach solo material and Skid Row classics. The performance is intertwined with Bach’s VH1 "Forever Wild" TV footage and includes special guest stars Joey Ramone, Vince Neil, Drea DeMatteo(The Sopranos), Ted Nugent and much more.
Sebastian Bach continues his work with VH1 on the new show “I Married Sebastian Bach,” a one hour special based on Bach and his wife/manager Maria and, as Sebastian puts it, "All the inherent mayhem & hijinx that occur in our rock'n'roll world" as they prepare to go on tour.
It has been almost four years since Sebastian Bach’s last solo work, and after just wrapping up shooting on his fourth episode of the ‘Gilmore Girls’ for the WB, Sebastian is ready to deliver Forever Wild and get back on the road in July.
