Eagle Rock Sizzles With The Sweet Sax Stylings Of

KENNY G

LIVE AT MONTREUX 1987/1988

~On DVD September 21, 2010~

New York, NY (September 14, 2010)—Grammy-Award winning saxophonist Kenny G ignited a sterling career that currently boasts global album sales in excess of 50 million. On September 21, Eagle Rock Entertainment will present a live snapshot of this global superstar, when Kenny G: Live at Montreux 1987/1988 is released on DVD [MSRP $14.98].

Making his debut Montreux appearance in 1987, just after the release of his multi-platinum fourth album Duotones, this concert features seven smooth, soulful tunes, including chart-topping hit single “Songbird.” Kenny G: Live at Montreux 1987/88 also highlights five-time Grammy Award-winning pianist/composer George Duke on the final song of the evening “Champagne.” Wowing the Swiss crowd in 1987, Kenny G was asked to return to the 1988 festival. Seven selections from that second Montreux performance are also featured on the DVD, which took place just before the release of his Silhouette album.

Striking out on his own in 1982, after stints as a sax player for Barry White’s Love Unlimited Orchestra and Jeff Lorber Fusion, Kenny G has achieved chart success and worldwide renown. He has collaborated with everyone from Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Natalie Cole, Frank Sinatra, Babyface, Toni Braxton, Burt Bacharach, to Barbara Streisand, as well as many others.

Live at Montreux 1987/1988 perfectly pairs with Eagle’s previous Kenny G DVD and first Blu-ray release An Evening of Rhythm & Romance (released October 2009), which highlights a 2008 performance at Humphreys By The Bay. These sets are a pristine showcase of this musician’s early days, as well as his continuing success.
